It has been on my heart quite a bit lately how “small” may be overlooked. We want to do big things, not small. But I think small holds incredible power. I was able to read the book Small Batch Discipleship by Tracy Sullivan recently. She does an amazing job at helping us understand and live out small batch discipleship. She dives into what discipleship is, how to set a strong foundation for it, and lastly how to lead others into discipleship.
You don’t have to have a big audience, or thousands of people hanging on your words. You simply start with the people God has placed right in front of you. One of my favorite quotes from the book is this: “Be faithful in the small things, for in the end we’ll discover they were the only ones we ever truly held in our hands. And when we join hands with one another, we’ll find God handcrafts us all together into something beautiful and grand.”
I believe in our pursuit for “big” we miss the things that make up the big picture. Grab this book if you want to stop believing bigger is better and want to start impacting the world for Christ—right where you are. This book is an incredible tool to help you live out the great commission command. It will equip you to be both a disciple of Christ and of others.
