Have you heard of the Scribd app?
It’s like Netflix for books and I am completely hooked!! We do not have a library in our town and to get a card in a town close by is super expensive. So I just buy books. But for $8.99/month, you have access to audiobooks, E-books, and even sheet music. No expensive purchasing of books (like Audible) and there are thousands and thousands of titles. I absolutely love reading, but I don’t always have time to sit and read. With the audio books as well as ebooks I can read to my heart’s content while also listening to audio book while mowing or doing other tasks. Seriously, book heaven! I have searched for my Amazon wishlist and found most all of them on Scribd. Many of them have both versions the Ebook and Audio book. I am excited to have Kina start listening to books too, she loves listening to books on tape. Loren may even “crack” some books open since there is the option to listen to them!
I have been using it for a month now. As far as I can see there is not any wait lists to begin reading books and there is no time limit on how long you can have them. You simply open the app, click on the book you want and go. Another amazing benefit is that you can download books to the app so when you are offline you can still read or listen.
I have noticed that they do limit your audiobooks. After I listened to a few and searched for other books I wanted to listen to it said available soon. I looks like it is available when I begin the next month. They don’t limit all the audiobooks, just certain ones. If you are like me, you never run out of things you want to read so it more of an annoyance than a problem. I found other audiobooks to listen to and simply put the books I wanted to listen to when available on a saved list. I have not encountered any problem with the ebooks.
So much to read so little time! Have I mentioned…book Heaven?
If you download the app using this link, you’ll get your first two months FREE and I’ll get one month. Score. Give it a try, you can cancel anytime.
