This Devotional Journal was born out of my own personal need to be reminded of truth. I was recovering from controlling anxiety and depression when I heard God’s prompting to write a book that would help others overcome lies that satan tells them. You see, I used to live in a state of depression. I wondered what the use of my days were. I measured myself based on a cultural ruler of value, not God’s. As God gradually opened my eyes to really believe His truth, I slowly overcame. But there were still the days that seemed to knock me down. To be honest, I would try and find comfort and solace by opening up the Bible, but more times that not I opened up to a scripture that didn’t bring comfort to my aching heart in that moment. Oftentimes I didn’t even know how to pray when my heart felt so heavy. I longed for something I could open up to and point me to scripture and truth that would align with my aching feelings.
The book I Need Jesus was born. It includes pre-written prayers, quotes, scriptures, hymns/songs, and more that point to specific topics that women struggle with. This book was born out of my own need to not only be reminded of truth in a calm reassuring manner, but also to help me practically apply Biblical truths (like the armour of God, think on these things, and redeeming this time) to my daily life. I needed something to ground me in truth so I could shoot down and overcome satan’s lies. I pray this is what this book can do for you as well.
